An HTTPS page can still request individual resources over insecure HTTP.

That creates mixed content and can cause browsers to warn, upgrade, or block those requests depending on the resource and browser behavior.

The fix is to correct the source references.

## Find the insecure requests

Browser developer tools can show mixed-content warnings and the resource URLs involved.

A site crawl can help locate repeated references across many pages.

Common sources include:

- images;
- JavaScript;
- stylesheets;
- fonts;
- iframes;
- embedded media;
- hard-coded links inside templates or database content.

## Update the real source

Change the template, stylesheet, content field, configuration value, or stored URL that produces the HTTP request.

Do not rely on a browser or proxy workaround when the site itself can request the correct secure resource directly.

## Check third-party resources

An external script, image, or embed must actually support HTTPS.

If the provider does not offer a secure version, replace or remove that dependency rather than rewriting the scheme and assuming it works.

## Clear relevant caches

CMS caches, page caches, CDNs, browsers, or build output can preserve old resource references after the source is corrected.

Clear only the caches relevant to the changed content and then test again.

## Retest important pages and forms

Check representative templates, forms, embedded tools, and pages that load older media.

MDN's current mixed-content guidance recommends serving page resources over HTTPS and using developer-console warnings as a diagnostic aid.
