Technology changes, and so do the needs of the people who use it.

Switchboard Tech Services is changing with them.

I am no longer accepting computer hardware or electronics repair work. Due to limited local demand, Switchboard is shifting its focus toward Linux conversions, website design and maintenance, software support, and other specialized technical services.

Existing repair articles will remain available as practical reference material. However, I am no longer accepting physical repair work that requires opening devices, replacing screens, changing hardware components, soldering, or performing other internal repairs.

Software-related work remains available, including operating-system troubleshooting, Linux installation, software configuration, data migration, and website repair.

Switchboard Tech Services no longer accepts work involving:

  • Screen or display replacement
  • Laptop hinge or keyboard replacement
  • Charging-port or power-jack replacement
  • Battery replacement requiring device disassembly
  • Motherboard or circuit-board repair
  • Soldering or component replacement
  • Internal electronics repair
  • Phone or tablet repair
  • Appliance repair

This change allows me to concentrate on the work best suited to Switchboard’s technical background: Linux, software, websites, open-source technology, privacy, technical instruction, and specialized digital projects.
