Switch to Protonmail Reason #40: Separate personal, public, and business mail with distinct addresses
One widely published address invites spam and makes unrelated parts of your life easier to correlate.
Why this matters
One widely published address invites spam and makes unrelated parts of your life easier to correlate. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.
The protection
Proton supports additional addresses and aliases, with limits that depend on the plan.
Take action
Assign a clear purpose to each address and reserve one for high-value accounts. Separation is strongest when you also avoid reusing other identifiers. Email protection depends on the route and settings. Ordinary mail involving outside providers is not automatically end-to-end encrypted, and email metadata is not universally hidden.
