Switch to Protonmail Reason #18: Give political or advocacy groups an address separate from your daily identity
Association with a cause should not automatically expose the address used for banking or family mail.
Why this matters
Association with a cause should not automatically expose the address used for banking or family mail. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.
The protection
A dedicated alias creates separation at the email-address level.
Take action
Use one alias per group and understand that donations or public posts can reveal identity in other ways. Email protection depends on the route and settings. Ordinary mail involving outside providers is not automatically end-to-end encrypted, and email metadata is not universally hidden.
