Switch to Brave Browser Reason #9: Reveal less about the page you came from through referrer headers

A destination may learn which page sent you there, exposing a sensitive topic before you say a word.

Why this matters

A destination may learn which page sent you there, exposing a sensitive topic before you say a word. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.

The protection

Brave reduces referrer information in some cases and removes it in others.

Take action

Use Brave when moving between unrelated sites. A destination may still infer context from the link itself or information you enter. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
