Switch to Brave Browser Reason #6: Expose trackers disguised as part of the site you are visiting
Some tracking vendors hide behind a site's own-looking subdomain, hoping ordinary third-party blocking will miss them.
Why this matters
Some tracking vendors hide behind a site's own-looking subdomain, hoping ordinary third-party blocking will miss them. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.
The protection
Brave uses CNAME uncloaking to identify certain disguised tracker requests and block them.
Take action
Browse with Shields active and review blocked resources when a site seems unusually invasive. This covers known techniques, not every hidden data flow. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
