Switch to Brave Browser Reason #5: Disrupt fingerprinting that identifies you without cookies
Trackers can combine details about your device and browser into a recognizable fingerprint even after cookies are blocked.
Why this matters
Trackers can combine details about your device and browser into a recognizable fingerprint even after cookies are blocked. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.
The protection
Brave randomizes selected browser APIs and limits highly identifying signals to make that fingerprint less stable.
Take action
Keep fingerprint protection enabled in Shields. A browser fingerprint can still be one signal among others, especially when you log in. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
