Switch to Brave Browser Reason #49: Use an open-source browser whose privacy mechanisms can be inspected
Privacy promises matter less when nobody can inspect the software making them.
Why this matters
Privacy promises matter less when nobody can inspect the software making them. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.
The protection
Brave builds on open-source Chromium and publishes its own browser code and privacy work for review.
Take action
Prefer tools with inspectable behavior and keep them updated. Open source improves auditability but is not proof of perfection. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
