Switch to Brave Browser Reason #46: Keep more browsing activity out of a single corporate account
When search, browser sync, ads, and website logins meet in one account, the resulting record becomes more revealing.
Why this matters
When search, browser sync, ads, and website logins meet in one account, the resulting record becomes more revealing. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.
The protection
Brave's own browser sync is client encrypted, and its optional search service has a separate privacy model.
Take action
Review your default search engine and sync setup. Sites you sign into can still associate your visits with your account. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
