## Why this matters

Graphics APIs can expose device-specific signals that advertisers may combine into an identifier. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.

## The protection

Brave's fingerprint protections cover browser APIs, including graphics-related surfaces.

## Take action

Keep Brave current as tracking methods evolve. Determined sites may still combine signals with logins or IP addresses. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
