Switch to Brave Browser Reason #36: Use Safe Browsing without sending full URLs to Google
Security checks should not require handing a complete browsing log to a third party.
Why this matters
Security checks should not require handing a complete browsing log to a third party. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.
The protection
Brave's Safe Browsing checks mostly local lists; for matches it sends a partial hash, and desktop requests use a Brave proxy.
Take action
Leave the protection on while understanding the limited data flow described in Brave's documentation. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
