Switch to Brave Browser Reason #35: Check extensions against known security threats
An extension can read or alter large portions of your browsing.
Why this matters
An extension can read or alter large portions of your browsing. A malicious one is effectively inside the locked room. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.
The protection
On desktop, Safe Browsing can block known malicious, vulnerable, or policy-violating extensions.
Take action
Install few extensions, review permissions, and heed warnings. A listed extension is not automatically harmless forever. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
