## Why this matters

The browser default may be reasonable for most pages but insufficient for a site where the stakes are higher. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.

## The protection

Brave offers more aggressive Shields settings, with a greater chance of site breakage.

## Take action

Try stronger blocking for sensitive browsing and verify the site still works. If you create an exception, limit it to the trusted site. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
