## Why this matters

Researching a political issue, a legal problem, or workplace organizing can reveal beliefs and vulnerabilities. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.

## The protection

Brave blocks many third-party resources that would otherwise observe those page visits.

## Take action

Use a privacy-protective browser before the sensitive research begins. Browser blocking does not conceal your IP address from the site you visit. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
