Switch to Brave Browser Reason #11: Block social media embeds that can observe visitors outside their platforms

A social network's widget can appear on a site you never intended to share with that network.

Why this matters

A social network's widget can appear on a site you never intended to share with that network. Privacy is easier to defend before this information is collected than after it has spread.

The protection

Brave offers social-media blocking controls for embedded posts and login widgets.

Take action

Review social blocking in Brave settings and turn it on for networks you want to avoid. You will lose some embed conveniences. Brave reduces common tracking, but a site you sign in to still knows what you do there. Ordinary browsing also reveals your IP address to the destination.
