## Short answer

Often the post contains a URL to media stored on a separate file host rather than embedding the file inside every relay event. NIP-94 describes metadata, including a download URL and optional hashes, that can be attached to shared files. Availability then depends on both relay copies of the event and the media host. Save important originals separately; a surviving post does not guarantee its media still loads.
