Computer repair is a delicate art. Here is a typical process to discuss with a repair provider before work begins.

## 1. Quote

First, agree on the repair provider’s pricing.

## 2. Parts Research

The repair provider researches compatible parts for the computer.

- This is a highly important and sensitive step. In some cases, checking suppliers and comparing prices takes time.

- In **some** cases, a technician may need to open the device to identify the exact part if it is not obvious via make/model research.

## 3. Verification

The final quote should identify the **Hourly Rate** + **Parts & Shipping**.
