# Omarchy OS: How do I back up my Omarchy setup?

Back up your personal files and customized dotfiles separately from Omarchy’s system snapshots.

Keep copies of `/home`, including the settings you changed under `~/.config`, on another drive or trusted backup service. Omarchy’s update snapshots restore the root filesystem but explicitly do not restore `/home`, so they are not a personal-file backup.
