Where to Play Disc Golf in Kirksville

Rotary Park is Kirksville’s public disc-golf destination, and the current playable layout is 12 holes even though an older City parks description still says nine.

Kirksville's public disc-golf course is at Rotary Park, 801 E. Mill St.

The current playable course has 12 holes.

That answer needs an explanation because the City of Kirksville currently has two conflicting descriptions online.

Why some City pages still say nine holes

The City's general Parks, Trails & Facilities page still describes Rotary Park as having a nine-hole disc golf course.

That appears to be older descriptive text.

A separate City Parks and Recreation sponsorship document says a new disc golf course arrived in fall 2022 and explicitly identifies it as a 12-hole course.

The City's 2024 sponsorship material repeats the same 12-hole description.

Current UDisc course information also shows a 12-hole layout.

Taken together, the evidence supports 12 holes as the current playable course while the nine-hole City webpage appears not to have been updated.

What the current layout includes

UDisc currently lists Rotary Park with:

  • 12 holes;
  • concrete tee pads;
  • Patriot targets;
  • a public, mixed-use park setting;
  • a current "B" layout of about 3,699 feet;
  • par 36.

Because basket positions and layouts can change, use the current course map or tee signage for hole-by-hole navigation rather than treating those measurements as permanent.

The course shares Rotary Park

Disc golf is only one use of the park.

Rotary Park also contains:

  • picnic shelters;
  • restrooms;
  • a playground;
  • the Kirksville Aquatic Center;
  • Parks and Recreation offices;
  • the Ray Klinginsmith Amphitheatre;
  • sledding space during suitable winter weather.

That mixed-use setting matters while playing. A disc-golf line can pass through a park being used by people who are not playing.

Is there a fee?

Current UDisc information identifies the Rotary Park course as public and free to play.

No separate City disc-golf admission program is listed on the current parks page.

Players still need to bring their own discs unless participating in an event that provides equipment.

Which hole count should a visitor trust?

As of September 2026:

Current City project documents + current UDisc: 12 holes.

Older City parks description: 9 holes.

That is not a reason to average the two numbers or pretend the conflict does not exist.

It is evidence that the course changed and one City page retained the older description.

For an actual round, trust the current physical tee signs and current course map first.

A small example of why local information needs dates

Rotary Park demonstrates a common problem with local Web information.

An official page can remain online after the facility it describes has changed.

The better answer comes from comparing sources by date and purpose.

Kirksville had an older nine-hole description, installed a new 12-hole course in 2022, and currently has a 12-hole layout documented by both later City material and active player mapping.
