Ancient Web: VacationLovers Kept a 2001 Timeshare Trip in a Photo Diary
Chris and Ann Collins's personal travel website preserves carefully captioned early-2000s vacation photographs, timeshare notes, and later cruise and RV journeys.

VacationLovers began with a very ordinary goal: Chris and Ann Collins wanted family and friends to see their holiday photographs. The result became a surprisingly thorough archive of trips, timeshares, cruise ships, and places they liked.
The homepage still explains that progression. Its earliest emphasis was timeshare resorts; later the couple added cruises, and eventually journeys made by recreational vehicle. Links lead to Hawaii, Cancun, Alaska, Sanibel Island, Palm Springs, Bora Bora, Washington, D.C., and many other destinations.
One preserved Palm Beach photo diary dates its trip to May 2001. The couple exchanged the studio portion of their timeshare for a one-bedroom unit at Marriott's Ocean Pointe resort on Singer Island. Their enthusiasm is practical: the unit slept four, the weather was unexpectedly dry, and they had a good view from the sixth floor.
Photographs with the descriptions still attached
The first Palm Beach page includes an aerial view of the resort, a rock jetty, the building layout, the pool, lobby, and beach furniture. The photographs appear as individual images surrounded by short explanations. The second page continues the diary, rather than making the reader sift through an undifferentiated grid.
The detail about a resort's buildings being completed in stages is particularly useful as a time capsule. A picture showing only two buildings tells a different story from a modern brochure displaying the finished property.
The same older presentation appears across other trip sections: a named location, a page number, captions, and buttons for previous and next. The site has a map of its own pages instead of an endless feed.
A photograph's 2001 trip date is not proof that the current website was launched that year. The public page does not supply a reliable founding date, so that distinction needs to remain explicit.
This is not an invitation to rely on decades-old information for today's booking, prices, resort condition, or public access. Its preservation value is the record of where two people went and exactly what they chose to photograph at the time.
