Ancient Web: Hosanna1 Kept a 1999 Afghan Hound Show Album

Hosanna1.com combines an old-fashioned Afghan Hound breeder homepage with a photo-by-photo record of a 1999 national specialty show and decades of dog pedigrees.

Hosanna1.com looks as though it has never encountered a banner graphic it could resist. Under the decorations is a surprisingly specific piece of dog-show history.

Visit the Hosanna1 homepage

The site identifies itself as the home of Hosanna Afghan Hounds, with an old-style Web portal offering photo pages, links, archives, kennel history, and information on available dogs. Its copyright line reaches back to 1998. The site continues to update, but it retains the atmosphere of a late-nineties personal portal: animated flourishes, instructions to refresh for updates, link exchanges, and a prominent invitation to make it your browser homepage.

A standout feature is its 1999 Afghan Hound Club of America National Specialty show album. The homepage advertises thirteen pages and roughly a hundred photographs from the Best of Breed competition. It is presented as a walk through the event, not an algorithmic stream of attractive dogs.

The archive has a family tree

A separate Hosanna hound-history page follows the breeding program from its earliest dogs into later generations. The author names Samson, born in the first litter on March 28, 1995, and continues with Happy, Ruby, Joshua, Bliss, and other hounds. Links lead to individual dogs' show pictures and pedigree analysis.

The entries mix formal show accomplishments with extremely personal stories. One dog disliked the show ring; another was lost in an accident; some are remembered for their temperament rather than titles. A note dated March 22, 2024 acknowledges that the original animals have long since died. The web pages let their histories outlast them.

Other sections cover breeding and coat colors, illustrating why even a sprawling kennel website can function as a small specialist archive. Pedigrees, photographs, show results, and informal recollections are evidence of a community with its own terminology and records.

Not everything linked from the portal is about dogs. It also hosts political and spiritual commentary. Those positions belong to the website's owner and are not endorsements by this collection. The reason for visiting is the historical dog-show material and the surviving firsthand kennel record.
