A Cantopop fan in 1995 could not simply subscribe to a singer's official social account. To keep track of the music and the press coverage, somebody had to build the index.

The site's own footer gives its launch date as December 1, 1995 and identifies the surviving release as version 1.3, last updated April 30, 2008. It credits Keith and LMK as people to contact, along with Andrew for the artwork. The homepage is a lovingly hand-assembled fan reference about Hong Kong singer Shirley Kwan.
A fan club built out of separate pages
Its main menu offers a gallery of scanned images, music news, biographical facts, trivia, charts, and albums. The discography branch promises album lists, lyrics, and reviews. The trivia section catalogs performances, music videos, and events, with outward links to related websites. These were not quick reaction posts; they were structured attempts to make a musician's public career easier to research.
Readers could also vote in polls about favorite songs and records, leave messages in a guestbook, and join an email list named for the site. Small new and updated graphics were intended to flag sections changed within the past seven days. That arrangement gives a vivid sense of the maintenance work behind fan culture: one webmaster or group maintaining changes, new images, and individual pages for readers who returned deliberately.
The homepage remains readable, although several old album and event subpages are not dependable through modern text browsers. The menu is evidence of what was organized, not proof that every gallery picture, music file, or interactive poll remains operational.
Its refusal to become a generic news portal is important. The site carries a note asking people not to mirror the authors' materials without permission, a reminder that fan labor had its own concerns about attribution even before today's platform copyright systems.
A 1995 fan site could be part magazine, part archive, part correspondence hub, and part community clubhouse, all maintained by a small group with a particular musical passion.
